"Good stories can change the way we think, feel, and respond to the most important issues of our timeand climate change is no different," Katy Jacobs, founder of the NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship, says in a press release.
The Natural Resources Defense Council, the Black List, the Redford Center, and the CAA Foundation have announced the recipients of their fourth annual fellowship, which aims to help screenwriters write films or TV scripts that grapple with climate change and its effects.
Elizabeth Chatelain, Marcus Tappan, and Sasha Stewart are this year's recipients, who will each receive a $20,000 grant and be paired with an entertainment industry professional who will provide mentorship and help them develop their screenplays, Variety reports.
The fellowship runs from 2024 to 2025 and is open to anyone who has written a feature or TV script that addresses climate change or its effects.
This year's winners will be mentored by Brit Marling, Daniel Scheinert, and Mike Schur.
